The big day is finally here!! The wedding starts at 4pm at Mt Gulian Historic House (145 Sterling St) in Beacon, NY on Saturday, Oct 15th. We can’t wait to see you there!
Are you coming up to Beacon/Fishkill on Friday night? If so, come have a drink with us! Please come join us at the White House Tavern in downtown Fishkill at 9pm. The White House is located a little less than a mile from most of the hotels at 1107 Main St. Fishkill, NY 12524. This will be a very casual affair.
The invites are mailed and have hopefully all arrived. Yes, those are our lovely cats – Nona and Eleanor.
If you haven’t already, don’t forget to RSVP!
Please check the updated accommodations page. It seems a few of the hotels have sold out. Also a reminder that it will probably be chilly at night, so bring a jacket or a wrap. (Strangely, bonfires aren’t allowed near a historic wooden house.)
We hope everyone is enjoying their summer. We just got back from Kentucky and had a great time. We saw family & friends, explored some caves and visited the Buffalo Trace distillery.
We are very happy and can’t wait see everyone in Beacon. We have been going up there a lot this summer to finish our plans and have really grown to love the area. We think you’ll like it too!
After what has been possibly the shortest venue selection in history (we only looked at 3 venues… and almost settled on the first), we have made up our mind and sent in the deposit for The Mt. Gulian Historic House in Beacon, NY. The farm house was built in 1730 by the Verplanck family and was beautifully restored after a fire destroyed most of the building in 1931.
We fell for the place pretty much at first sight. It sits on an enormous piece of land overlooking the Hudson River and has an amazing old barn. We’re excited to see how nice it will look in October with all the fall foliage in full effect.
